Calif. Rep. Henry Waxman hospitalized

LOS ANGELES The 69-year-old complained of not feeling well and was admitted Tuesday after fainting in his office. Waxman was in Los Angeles for the weeklong congressional recess.

The 18-term congressman heads the /*House Energy and Commerce Committee*/. He co-authored the energy and climate-change bill that narrowly passed in the House Friday. The Waxman-Markey Clean Energy Bill is considered the first national legislation aimed at cutting green house gas emissions.

A spokeswoman said Waxman has undergone routine testing for symptoms, but did not disclose the symptoms. The spokeswoman also says Waxman feels fine and is in good spirits.

There's no word on when he might be released from the hospital.
