LAPD detectives say the suspect pretended to use an automated teller machine, then demanded money from the victim, who was using an adjacent machine. The suspect tried to grab the victim, but the victim was able to get away unharmed.
The suspect was last seen driving off in a 1997 or 1998 two-door tan-colored Chrysler Sebring.
Police said they hope a possible witness comes forward with tips leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD detectives at (877) LAPD-24-7, that's (877) 527-3247.
