Burning restrictions in Riverside County

RIVERSIDE, Calif. Riverside County Fire Chief John R. Hawkins said restrictions are necessary because of extreme high temperatures and acute dry vegetation.

The restrictions apply to Riverside County, but not in incorporated areas. They will be in effect until they are canceled by fire authorities, said Hawkins.

Campfires are restricted to campfire facilities in established campgrounds. Agricultural burning in the Palo Verde and Coachella valley is authorized for agricultural need. Cooking fires are allowed with on-site inspection and required permit.
