Both mother and son were pronounced dead at the scene. Police had earlier said the child was a girl.
Their identities have not been released.

Mom kills boy, 4, in murder-suicide
GARVANZA, Calif. Police said the 4-year-old had been stabbed multiple times, and the 43-year-old mother then slit her wrists in the 300 block of Vista Place in Garvanza.
