Baja officials announce crime hotline

The crime wave in Mexico has hurt tourism there, and now Mexican officials are taking action.The head of public security in Baja held a joint news conference in Los Angeles Monday with the Consul General. They announced a new hotline number to report any sort of crime or other problems in Baja. The hotline is intended for victims, people who witnessed a crime or for anyone with information on criminal activity.

The hotline number is (866) 201-5060. It is free and totally anonymous.

Mexican officials say a similar domestic hotline in Baja has been very successful.
