July 22, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
A prosecution witness testified on Tuesday that the boy charged with fatally shooting a gay classmate was motivated in part by Neo-Nazi beliefs.Brandon McInerney is charged with murder and a hate crime for the killing of 15-year-old Larry King. McInerney was 14 when he allegedly shot King in an Oxnard classroom last year.

The testimony was part of the preliminary hearing.

Dan Swanson, a detective and specialist in Neo-Nazi gangs, testified that a collection of Nazi paraphernalia found in McInerney's room shows a deeper interest than the World War II book report the boy had been assigned.
