3 arrested in 7-Eleven robbery spree

ANAHEIM, Calif. Anaheim police say the suspects targeted /*7-Eleven*/ stores. They're believed to have pulled off 17 robberies in nearly a dozen cities in Los Angeles and Orange counties over the past month.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested Friday in Chula Vista in San Diego County. A second suspect, also a 17-year-old boy, was arrested Tuesday in Chula Vista. A third suspect, identified as 18-year-old Raymond Moreno, was arrested Tuesday at an abandoned house in Anaheim.

Police say media exposure, which included surveillance video of the robberies, led them to the suspects.

The robberies occurred in Anaheim, Yorba Linda, Brea, Long Beach, Carson, Fullerton, Placentia, Huntington Beach, San Clemente, La Palma and Lynwood, according to police.

Police say they're glad to get the trio off the street. They say the robberies were becoming increasingly violent. In one case a clerk was cut with a knife.
