Man beaten, left for dead in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. The man was found after midnight Saturday next to his BMW on the third floor of a parking garage on the 1400 block of Ivar Avenue near Hollywood Boulevard. Police say the man was beaten with a blunt object and suffered several injuries to his head.

His exact condition is unknown.

Residents in the area say it is alarming something like this happened.

"We never heard of anything like that before around here. That's really shocking to me," said resident Carmine Thompson. "It's usually pretty safe. You see security patrolling every once in awhile, so that's a surprise."

"It's a city that has everything, so I think, you know, the crime, you have to watch your back definitely," said resident Yanik Martelly.

Detectives worked the crime scene for hours searching for clues. They say they have no suspects and no clear motive.

Police have yet to reveal the victims name as they work to uncover more about what happened and why.
