L.A. Co. Sheriff offers job openings

LONG BEACH, Calif. A recruitment workshop was held Tuesday in Long Beach for a variety of non-sworn jobs with the department, including nurse practitioner, nursing assistant, dentist, pharmacist, physician specialist, dietician and head cook.

Though the requirements are not quite as strenuous as for those seeking to become deputies, they are somewhat strict nonetheless. All applicants were required to fill out an in-depth, 17-page application.
