2 fatal shootings in San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Officers say the shootings happened just blocks away one another Wednesday night, but it appears they're not related.

A woman was shot to death in the middle of the street at about midnight on the 1300 block of North Sierra Way. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Tiffany Little of San Bernardino..

Witnesses say the woman was walking down the street with a man when the man shot her.

Ishmael Ramirez said he was outside with some friends when they heard the shots.

"When the first gunshot was fired we thought it was fireworks," said Ramirez. "And then she yelled for help. That's when she tried to cross and that's when the second fire, the shot was fired and we thought it was to us or it was to her because it ricocheted and hit the wall."

Ramirez said the group ducked and ran inside.

"We looked outside and the lady was on the floor, so we came, we ran outside to help her," Ramirez said.

Friends described Little as a free spirit and said she lived in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred.

Police have interviewed several witnesses, but they are still looking for the man who shot Little.

A second call of shots fired came about an hour later from the Meadowbrook Apartments on the 100 block of West Rialto Avenue.

When officers arrived at the complex they found a man shot. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A man has been arrested and charged with murder in the case. Police have not released the suspect's name.

If you have any information regarding either case, you're asked to call the San Bernardino Police Department at (909) 384-5742.
