Car explodes in Panorama City

PANORAMA CITY, Calif. The home was near the intersection of Parthenia St. and Woodman Avenue.

Authorities say it appears someone was welding a tank in a van when an explosion took place in the van at about 9:45 p.m.

The explosion peeled the roof off the van, which was bent forward over the driver and front passenger's seat.

There were no injuries reported.
