Swine flu quarantine lifted at O.C. jail

SANTA ANA, Calif. The quarantine was put in place after five inmates were diagnosed with the virus last week. By Monday, the number of inmates infected shot up to twelve.

The men's jail holds 1,220 inmates. Those who were infected with /*swine flu*/ were separated from the general population and treated.

During the quarantine, inmates were not released for court appearances. The outbreak also canceled Saturday and Sunday's normal visiting hours.

As no new cases have been detected, jail officials lifted the quarantine Thursday and the regular court schedule resumed.
