Toddler drowning under investigation

August 4, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
The drowning of a 2-year-old boy who was found in a backyard pool was under investigation Tuesday, a sheriff's sergeant said. Aden Sanborn of Hemet was pronounced dead at 2:18 p.m. Monday at Riverside County Regional Medical Center, according to sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Mike.

The boy was not breathing when he was found in the pool around 1:30 p.m. at a home in the 30000 block of Apricot Avenue, and emergency personnel performed CPR on the boy before rushing him to the hospital, Mike said.

The sergeant reminded residents with pools to use water safety precautions. He directed residents to the American Red Cross Web site for safety tips, at www.redcross.org.
