Torn flag causing dispute in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. In the 11 months since Louis Haros' son has been gone, the flag has become tattered. Neighbors say it's disrespectful and should be taken down.

But Haros says he promised his son Paul, who raised the flag in September, that he'd keep it flying until he came home. Haros, a Vietnam Veteran, says a promise is a promise.

Paul Haros is back in the U.S. after a second tour of duty. He's in Wisconsin undergoing medical check-ups and is expected to return home to Fresno Friday.

The Haros have been surprised by the complaints of neighbors and total strangers who call the house about the tattered flag.

Even a national veterans group says Haros is not honoring the flag and suggests he replace it with a new flag. But Haros says it will come down as soon as his son comes home.
