"It was horrible," said Jackie. "We're sitting here admiring her child one second, and the next second, I'm being told that she's gone."
The four children, including the newborn, are now living with Jackie and her fiance, even though the couple already has six children of their own. The family is trying to make ends meet in this tough economy.
"We do OK. We do OK, but to add four more ... yeah, it's definitely a lot more to take on," said Jackie.
The good news is help is on the way. A rummage sale will be held Saturday morning at Wildrose School, hoping to raise money for the family. The local community has already donated many items to raise money for the Maruyama family.
"We have DVDs, books, VHS tapes, baby clothes, adult clothes. We have furniture, if you look around we have lots of baby toys. People we don't even know are bringing things in. It's just phenomenal, it's just overwhelming and very emotional," said Tina Del Regno, Wildrose Elementary School.
For Jackie, the help is overwhelming.
"It just shows how much Emily was loved, and her children. And, how great this community is to step up and do this," said Jackie.
One way you can help is by shopping at a rummage sale fundraiser on Saturday, August 8.
