Man arrested following high speed chase

ARLETA, Calif. The pursuit began about 8:45 a.m. in Carson when /*California Highway Patrol*/ officers attempted to stop a male driver on the 405 Freeway for a traffic violation.

The driver failed to stop, instead leading officers on a chase, with sharp turns and dangerous lane changes.

Reaching speeds of up to 90 miles per hour, the driver continued north, then east on the 118 Freeway to the southbound 5 Freeway, before exiting on Roscoe Boulevard in Sun Valley.

The chase came to an end nearly an hour later on Jouett Street near Van Nuys Boulevard in Arleta when CHP officers boxed in the vehicle in the driveway of a home.

Officers pulled him out of the car, handcuffed him on the ground, and then arrested him.

The driver's name has not been released.
