Baby born without eyes in Connecticut

WOODBURY, Conn. Ava Osborne was born May 1 with a rare medical condition that affects one out of every 100,000 babies.

Her mother says her daughter will get prosthetic eyes so that she will be able to blink.

"At first, I was devastated, but now she's such a good baby. She's so cute, and she's so happy that you can't be sad because she's such a good baby," said mother Kimberly Osborne.

The new mother is a student, and Ava will need surgery in the coming months, so friends and neighbors are planning to hold a second fundraiser to help cover costs.
