Giant tree cleared from Lankershim Blvd.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. The northbound lanes of Lankershim Boulevard just north of the 101 Freeway were closed in the early hours after a tree fell, covering several lanes of traffic.

Police had to divert traffic until crews were able to cut the whole thing up and haul it away.

Police who were walking by when the tree came crashing down say the sound was deafening.

No one was injured by the falling tree.
