Health care debated at SoCal town halls

LOS ANGELES State leaders held two town hall meetings.

One was at Southwest College in Los Angeles, with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, D-California. She plans to vote against the current bill unless it includes a provision for creating a government-run medical insurance plan, the so-called public option.

A second town hall meeting was held in Garden Grove. Representative Ed Royce, R-California, of Fullerton spoke there. Royce saying he opposes the Democratic version of health care reform because it's too expensive and would attract more illegal immigrants.
