Crews knock out fire in Bell Canyon

BELL CANYON, Calif. The fire was reported in the Bell Canyon area near the Ventura County border just before 2 p.m. About 120 firefighters responded to the blaze on the ground and in the air.

Firefighters said at one point homes were threatened, but they were able to beat back the flames before any damage was caused.

The fire was reportedly started when a pickup truck slammed into a power pole and ignited some nearby brush.
