WABC is reporting that DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, has been found dead from an apparent drug overdose in a Manhattan apartment. The 36-year-old celebrity DJ was found in the Manhattan apartment Friday evening.

The death comes a year after Goldstein and former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker survived a plane crash in Columbia, South Carolina. The crash killed both crew members and two other passenger. Goldstein and Barker were critically injured.

The celebrity DJ for hire performed at some of Hollywood's most exclusive parties. He made a number of television appearances on reality shows, including Punk'd, where his former fiancé, Nicole Richie, was the subject of a practical joke.

DJ AM also dated actress Mandy Moore for a short time in 2007.
