SANTA MONICA, Calif. "They can learn anything and they're capable of anything so I feel that it's just really fun being able to teach them and help them," said Devany.

Devany volunteers with /*Team Marine*/, an eco-minded group at /*Santa Monica High School*/. She wants these kids and others to know how all parts of our planet are connected.

"Everything we do affects the ocean, indirectly or directly, and we can make very small changes and that makes a huge difference," said Devany.

She gives her time to the kids because she remembers how young she was when she became aware of the wonders of the water.

"Coming to field trips, coming to aquariums, this is where I really learned about our oceans and our sea animals and how we can make a change," said Devany.

Sharing the beauty of the ocean and teaching the responsibility that comes with it, she is our Cool Kid, Devany Garcia.
