Broken water main creates car-sized hole

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. At one point, all lanes going southbound on Highland Avenue were closed to traffic.

The incident happened Thursday around 3 a.m. on Highland and De Longpre avenues. The break opened up a sinkhole the size of a car.

Department of Transportation and Public Works workers repaired the street. All lanes reopened to traffic as of 5 p.m. Thursday.
