The deputy who found him immediately began life-saving efforts and contacted medical staff at the facility. CPR was administered while American Medical Response and Rancho Cucamonga Fire responded.
The inmate was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana where he was pronounced deceased at 9:37 p.m.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Homicide Detail responded to conduct the death investigation, as any death of an inmate while in the sheriff's custody is investigated by the Homicide Detail.
