Burrows locked herself in a bedroom with a 22-caliber rifle and threatened to shoot anyone who came in.
Despite the danger, neighbors were sympathetic to the 84-year-old woman's situation.
"That keeps you going, when you have a handicap and stuff like that," said neighbor Josie Coyle. "You look forward to having them sit on your lap. Her dog used to ride on her wheelchair with her and [was her] companion."
An investigator convinced Burrows to leave her apartment and she went quietly with officers.
