Kids will think 'Meatballs' is delicious

LOS ANGELES "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is a mouth watering new animated movie inspired by the beloved children's book.

The fantastical tale is getting the big-screen 3D treatment, and tells the story of a clever young man who has big dreams.

"This is a movie about a young inventor who invents a machine that turns water into food. And nothing goes wrong -- ha," said actress Anna Faris.

When the device accidentally gets launched into the stratosphere, all sorts of food falls from the sky like rain.

Bill Hader is the voice of the young inventor. Anna Faris is the smart and sassy weathergirl covering the phenomenon.

She was thrilled by the challenge of using only her voice as a means to acting. But it wasn't easy!

"I was pretty naive about it," explains Anna. "You say, physically, like each line 20 times, you're not working with another actor and just by the end of it, you're fried and stuff doesn't make sense anymore."

Anna says kids are gonna love this movie.

"The animation, especially in 3D is so stunning. I haven't seen a movie quite like this. It's really witty," said Anna.

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is rated-G and is in theaters Friday.
