Girl stabbed by mom expected to survive

WESTMINSTER, Calif. Doctors put the girl in a medically-induced coma after she underwent surgery for a chest wound she suffered in the attack Wednesday morning.

The girl's mother, 38-year-old Thuy Le, called 911 Wednesday. According to the newly released 911 tape, Le admits to stabbing her two daughters and herself.

Le's 3-year-old daughter is still in the hospital with what are considered to be superficial stab and slash wounds. She is reportedly in stable condition and is expected to survive.

As for Le, she could be released from the hospital as early as Thursday. She is expected to be booked for attempted murder upon her release.

There's no official word yet on a motive but investigators suspect Le was distraught over financial problems.
