Disney may be denied many superheroes

LOS ANGELES The children of one of Marvel's original artists have filed copyright claims that could deny Disney many of the comic's most powerful superheroes.

According to the L.A. Times, the children of the late Jack Kirby have served notices of copyright termination for 45 Marvel characters.

Kirby co-created many Marvel favorites, including the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Thor and the Hulk.

The filings come a week after Disney unveiled its $4 billion agreement to purchase Marvel.

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
