Fire hydrant breaks near downtown L.A.

LOS ANGELES A line leading to the hydrant broke near La Brea Boulevard between 8th and Wilshire early Sunday morning.

The break did not affect water service but it did make a mess of the intersection.

Saturday, the Department of Water and Power reported three more water main breaks in the city of Los Angeles, adding to dozens of breaks over the past month.
