Cool weather helps Sheep Fire crews

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. The fire is now 85 percent contained, and full containment is expected on Saturday.

The fire has destroyed five homes, and burned more than 7,128 acres, or 11 square miles.

Wrightwood residents forced to evacuate Sunday morning were allowed to return home mid-day Tuesday.

Mandatory evacuations are still in place for Swarthout Canyon and Lone Pine Canyon.

Schools in the Snowline district reopened Wednesday morning.
