Crews had been looking for the victim since his wife told them the driver of a pickup kidnapped her, shot her husband and dumped his body.
She escaped when the California Highway Patrol pulled the suspect over for a traffic stop in Camarillo.
The suspect led officers on a brief chase and is now in custody.
