Gov. signs prison bill, dog fighting bill

LOS ANGELES Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill Sunday to reduce the prison population by as many as 25,000 inmates.

However, the bill did not include more far-reaching reductions the governor had asked for.

Schwarzenegger also signed a measure increasing penalties for participating or even attending dog fights.

The new law allows authorities to seize property and any profits from dogfights.
