UC may charge more for certain majors

LOS ANGELES According to the L.A. Times, the UC Board of Regents is considering a plan that would require engineering and business students to pay $900 more a year than the rest of the student body.

That would be in addition to the $2,500 fee hike set to take effect system-wide next fall.

Officials say those two fields were chosen because the faculty members are paid more, and those students tend to land higher-paying jobs.
