Study: Soy may prevent hip fractures

LOS ANGELES Researchers in Singapore found that women were as much as 36 percent less likely to fracture a hip when they ate a moderate amount of soy.

The study put moderate intake at about three grams of soy protein daily.

Researchers did not find the same link among men.

The study's authors speculate that the naturally occurring plant estrogens that are abundant in soy may protect bones.
