Police initially said Barnes got out of the car and fired at them first. But they later changed their account, saying Barnes did not get out of the car and only threatened the officers with his gun.

PASADENA, Calif. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office concluded the officers acted in self-defense. The officers shot 38-year-old Pasadena resident /*Leroy Barnes*/ during a routine traffic stop.
