The Orange County Register reported that Sanchez answered his door and met the deputy with an eviction notice. He asked the deputy to wait and went back inside. The deputy heard a gunshot from inside the unit and called the Irvine Police Department.
When officers stormed the apartment they discovered Sanchez's body.
Similar incidents were reported in Northridge on Aug. 7 and West Hollywood on June 24.
