Object at L.A. courthouse was not bomb

EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. Deputies say the courthouse was closed when the box-like package was discovered just before 7 a.m.

Some streets were cordoned off while arson investigators tried to determine if the object was dangerous.

Authorities have not said exactly what the object was.

The scene was cleared after about two hours.
