Local elementary students embrace opera

SAN FERNANDO, Calif. Members of the Los Angeles Opera Company joined fifth grade students at San Fernando Elementary School for a performance of "The Marriage of Figaro."

The grand performance was the culmination of five weeks of practice and rehearsal.

The L.A. Opera's In-School Opera Program brings Company artists into area schools to work with students from elementary grades through high school. The program is considered a national model.
