Oprah Show's end may deter Chicago's economy

LOS ANGELES In recent months, the city lost its bid for the 2016 Olympics and was told by two trade shows they're going elsewhere.

Now marketing experts are concerned about what the loss of the Oprah Winfrey show will mean for Chicago's economy.

The show brought a lot of prestige and money, and in the area around Harpo Studios, Winfrey helped transform a rundown neighborhood into an enclave of pricey restaurants, upscale condos and trendy shops.
