Police say Juan Segura was shot and killed, while walking along south La Brea Avenue near Olympic boulevard.
Police say a car pulled up alongside Segura and a friend, and someone inside opened fire.
Authorities say he was shot in the chest.
There is no word on any suspects in the case.
The area was closed to traffic for some time this afternoon.
