Man pistol-whipped during attempted robbery

LOS ANGELES Police said three suspects entered the store on Pico and Hauser boulevards at about 10:30 p.m. The men were allegedly trying to rob the place when the owner got in the way.

Police said the owner was pistol-whipped by one of the men. When a worker came to help, the suspects took off before getting anything.

The owner was taken to the hospital, and is expected to survive his injuries.
