4 pets die in animal hospital fire

WEST HILLS, Calif. The fire was reported at about 1 a.m. at the West Hills Animal Hospital on Platt Avenue,

Fire officials said the blaze broke out on the roof of the building. The animals apparently died of smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were able to save one puppy, which was taken to another animal hospital for treatment.

No people were inside the building at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
