The driver then sped up to 90 mph on several freeways, dangerously swerving across traffic lanes. He was heading toward the border when a patrol car struck the truck's rear bumper. The fleeing vehicle spun to a halt.
Police chase carjacked truck to Mexican border
LOS ANGELES Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said the pursuit began
Thursday night in Willowbrook. Deputies spotted someone driving
recklessly in a Lincoln Navigator that was reported stolen the day
before. Sgt. Richard Pena said the driver got into a crash, got out
of the vehicle and carjacked a pickup truck in the parking lot of a
shopping center.
