DA files injunction against Adelanto gang

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. The gang targeted by the injunction has approximately 80 to 100 members and has been in existence for about 20 years. Prosecutors say graffiti, drugs, shootings, auto theft and burglary are among the gang's criminal activity.

The gang claims turf within an area dubbed as "the safety zone." It's an area where known gang members are prohibited from associating publicly, wearing gang clothing and displaying gang tattoos.

This is the third injunction filed by the San Bernardino County DA's office. Its purpose, according to prosecutors, is to disrupt the gang's activities and make it harder for them to intimidate residents.

On a news release, District Attorney Michael Ramos stated, "We are determined to use every means at our disposal to rid our streets of these vicious gang members. We hope that this injunction will ensure that law-abiding citizens in this neighborhood can live there without fear."
