Police received a call shortly after 5 p.m. Monday about a bank robbery in progress at the Chase Bank on Rancho California Road near Ynez Road.
But by the time officers arrived, the suspect had ran away with an undetermined amount of cash.
About an hour later, the nearby Quality Nissan car dealership called police after Shepherd unsuccessfully attempted to obtain a car.
A Temecula Police officer eventually spotted Shepherd walking near the Union Bank located on Ynez and Winchester Roads. The officer confronted Shepherd and a short foot pursuit followed. Shepherd was eventually arrested.
