Kennel catches fire overnight, all dogs saved

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. The fire broke out at L.A. Dogworks on Highland Avenue in Hollywood at about 1 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire and save each and every dog. All the animals were moved to a nearby building.

The kennel was popular with celebrities. Lindsay Lohan and Denise Richards are some of the stars who have kept their pets at the kennel.

LA Dogworks bills itself on its Web site as "Los Angeles' first exclusive dog Mecca," where a state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot retreat offers day-care in an indoor dog park, overnight boarding, grooming, dental hygiene, and "fetchmobile car service" for pet pickups.

An investigation was under way to determine the cause of the fire.
