Free Metro bus, rail rides for New Year's Eve

L.A. Metro is expanding its bus and rail service and offering free rides for the New Year's holiday.

Metro Orange Line bus service, which connects Warner Center with North Hollywood, will be expanded, and Metro Red, Purple, Blue Green and Gold Line trains will run every 20 minutes, beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Friday.

Between 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday, Metro service is free. The free fare program is good for the Metro bus and Orange Line, as well as the rail lines.
