Reports: Tiger's wife forges text to Uchitel

LOS ANGELES In the days before Tiger's alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel became tabloid fodder, sources say Tiger urged Uchitel to talk to his wife. According to two sources who spoke to thedailybeast.com, Elin and Uchitel spoke on the phone for half an hour, in an effort to convince Elin that Tiger's relationship with Uchitel was strictly platonic.

Despite the conversation with the New York party hostess, sources say Elin was still suspicious. On Thanksgiving Day, when details of the alleged affair were made public in the national enquirer, Elin and Tiger argued.

Sources say Tiger decided to end the argument by taking the prescription sleep aid, Ambien.

After Woods fell asleep, the sources say Elin looked through his cell phone. She found text messages to Uchitel, including one that read, "You are the only one I've loved."

The sources say Elin texted Uchitel, pretending to be Tiger. She wrote a message that read, "I miss you. When are we seeing each other again?"

Allegedly, Uchitel responded to the text, which prompted Elin to scream at her husband and hit his chest with her fists.

The sources say Tiger locked himself in a bathroom before fleeing from his mansion in his black Escalade SUV. He crashed into a tree a few hundred feet away, and sources say the lingering effects of the sleeping pills were to blame.

Tiger remains in seclusion since the scandal broke and is said to be in treatment.

Eyewitness News contacted Uchitel's attorney in Los Angeles for reaction to these reports. Attorney Gloria Allred says her client has no comment.
