What's new at the movies this weekend?

Hollywood Wrap with George Pennacchio
LOS ANGELES "Dear John" is an adaptation of the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the man who brought us several romantic favorites, including "The Notebook."

The two star-crossed lovebirds in this film are played by /*Amanda Seyfried*/ and /*Channing Tatum*/.

He's a soldier who comes home on leave and falls in love with a young college student. They only have two weeks together, and then their romance gets tested by his many deployments.

They try to stay connected through their many love letters, but will absence make the heart grow fonder? Or will their relationship turn into a case of "out of sight, out of mind"?

"Dear John" is rated PG-13.

John Travolta takes on the role of an FBI special agent in the thriller "From Paris with Love."

He connects with Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who plays a low-level employee of the U.S. Embassy. The agent and reluctant sidekick race to stop a terrorist attack that could devastate the city. The film is rated-R.

A different type of thriller takes place in the cold dark mountains.

"Frozen" is about three snowboarders accidentally left stranded high in the air on a chair lift at a ski resort set to be closed for days.

What will they do now? Expect a tension-filled adventure with this one.
