IE police catch suspected serial home burglar

Rancho Cucamonga police are looking for other possible victims after arresting a Fontana man in a failed home burglary.Anthony Wayne Lucas, 35, was arrested Thursday after an anonymous tip from a citizen.

During a search of Lucas' home in Fontana, detectives found stolen property and counterfeit money.

Lucas has been arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center on burglary charges.

He is currently on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.

Detectives began looking for a suspect on January 25, when a man kicked in a door at a home in the 5700 block of San Sevaine Road.

Residents at the home confronted the man and he fled in a light colored SUV or mini-van.

Detectives distributed a flier to the community with pictures from surveillance video. An anonymous tip led detectives to Lucas.

Detectives believe Lucas may be involved with other unsolved residential burglaries.
